Learning Objectives at Universities of the Arts?

Educational ideals already make learning objectives suspicious for universities, how much more so for art academies! Their traditions, including the idea of the academy, are opposed to this, as is the afterlife of romantic conceptions of art. Where art is committed to the sublime, the non-conceptual and yet also to the constantly new, it seems that learning objectives can only fail to fulfil their purpose. His lecture by Prof. Dr Christian Jaenecke, which he describes in these terms, will not draw a line under the debate taking place at several universities, but will provide historical and idealistic backgrounds to its motives.

Impulse lecture (in german) by Prof. Dr Christian Janecke, on Tuesday, 05.11.24 at the HfG Offenbach, 4-6 pm, room 101.
