The Colloquium Design History is a platform for people who are doing a PhD or would like to do a PhD in the field of design history. The upcoming edition of the event, in collaboration with GfDg deals with the subject of “Textiles of Success: The Design of Performance-Enhancing Clothing in Sport, Work and Leisure” and will take place on 14 June 2024 at the State Textile and Industry Museum (tim) in Augsburg.
The colloquium offers space for exchange, networking and mutual support for young researchers in the field of design history. Doctoral candidates and those interested in doing a doctorate are invited to present their topics, questions and works-in-progress during the colloquium in a 15-minute talk followed by a discussion. The focus is on low-threshold exchange among people with similar research interests, which is why the platform is open to submissions from all stages of the doctoral process – whether looking for a topic or a publisher.
