We are open for collaboration. And we welcome submissions from non-/academic and design communities worldwide. If you have any suggestions, like to write articles, become a reviewer, share thrilling ideas, CFPs, projects or contribute in any other way, you are invited to join!
designforschung.org is an internationally peer assessed journal which seeks to engage with all areas of research for, about or through design. Submissions may take the form of analytical or polemical essays, interviews, reports and reviews as well as audio, visual or text-based artworks which seek to address issues in / or are the outcomes of design research, -practice or -theory. We also welcome interdisciplinary articles which address questions in the context of philosophy, politics, science and the humanities.
designforschung.org seeks contributions that investigate and challenge the ways design shapes lives, for instance in terms of how design reproduces or triggers systems of power, oppression and inequality. We seek contributions that help our readers to stay informed on cross-disciplinary debates related to urgent social, political, and environmental issues. And we welcome works that critically address the politics of knowledge production within and beyond the academy.
Prospective contributors may submit their essays, commentaries, interviews, reviews, pictorials, and other non-/traditional forms of scholarly writing. All submissions are reviewed by at least two members of the editorial board. We encourage interdisciplinary work in non-western contexts, as well as submissions from under-represented regions and marginalized communities. We are particularly interested in hearing from students’ perspectives worldwide. Do not hesitate to get in touch! We are also currently seeking student interns.
